Hairy Nails

Human hair and nails are funny things, there’s this ambivalent perception of these bodily materials: On one hand they are perceived as beautiful when they are seen on a well-groomed person, but then again as soon as they are cut off and observed away from the body they often evoke strong disgust.

I wanted to explore what happens when I take hair and put it in place of finger- and toe nails, and whether the result would be aesthetically appealing or repulsive.
