Cable Tie Flowers

The Cable Tie Flowers are playing with the idea of a cheap material being paired with a precious one, and floral forms being made out of inorganic plastic. It was important for me to use solely cable ties for both the design elements as well as for the attaching mechanism. For pieces like the brooches and the bracelet some cable ties have to be cut in order to take them off after wearing, and need to be replaced with new cable ties for the next time. I enjoy blurring the lines of which components hold value and which components are disposable, or even trash.
